How did we get our start?
We’d like to say we’ve had our own Bigfoot sightings.
In 2019, our hosts, Tina and Kayla both read The Pisces by Melissa Broder and fell in love with the utter absurdity of the romantic pairing. Tina loved Bigfoot. Kayla was reviewing books for her blog. They got to talking about the possibility of a book club devoted to Bigfoot erotica.
Fast forward to an evening in 2020 at The Lounge at Revolution Gallery on Hertel Ave. where Tina and Kayla found their way back to discussing Bigfoot Book Club. Someone from the gallery laughed and said they would join. Both hosts agreed:
Let’s do it. Let’s start a book club.
Life got busy, as life does. Tina started her own business. Kayla founded and edited some books. And still they clung to this idea.
Finally in 2022, they made serious plans, and launched their first event for THE Bigfoot Book Club.
The rest, as they say, is history.
But, that’s not quite how it happened.

Tina Anderson
Tina Anderson is the owner of Creative Juices Marketing & Events, a community minded agency in Buffalo, NY. She’s been talking about hosting a Bigfoot Book Club for years, and finally found the right person to do it with! She believes everyone should give Bigfoot and cryptid erotica a chance, because even when you don’t believe in yourself, Bigfoot believes in you.
Kayla King
Kayla King is an author, editor, and creator. She is the founder, Editor-in-Chief, and contributing writer for three collectives: Pages Penned in Pandemic, The Elpis Pages, and The Elpis Letters with all proceeds being donated. Kayla brings this same literary analysis, attention to detail, and passion for words to book club. Don’t be surprised if Kayla discusses metaphors, story elements, omniscient narrators, or the male gaze while laughing at the absolute absurdity of monthly selections. She really can’t help herself. Cryptid erotica is wild and weird.
